FAQ: Bernie Sanders Action Figure
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

Do you ship to my country?

People all over the world have been asking us why we don’t ship to their country. Clearly we underestimated Bernie’s global appeal! We’ve set up shipping for the following countries, as per requests received (you have to add them one-by-one on Kickstarter and there are an awful lot of countries!)

**If you don’t see your country listed, just ask and we’ll get you set up too :) **

United States Canada EU (not technically a country, we know) Australia Mexico Indonesia New Zealand

Are you going to make the Republicans too?

Nope.

What country are these made in?

We work with a variety of suppliers both domestic and foreign and we will choose the one who is most qualified for the job.

Right now, all we have is the original sculpture, which was made in Seatlle by Mike Leavitt. No mass production has gotten underway and we haven’t selected the factory who will produce the final product yet.

That said, we can’t promise it will be made in the USA, as much as we’d love to. The unfortunate reality is that there are not many factories in the USA that do this kind of work. If you know of one, please contact us with their information!

Will you bring back more Obama Action Figures? I want the Democracy reward.

Consider it done.

When will I get Bernie?

We are currently estimating that Bernie will be ready to go in July. Follow our Kickstarter updates - we’re moving as fast as we can to get action figures to their rightful owners asap!

What does my $20 contribution pay for?

Your pledge will pay for the cost of creating the prototype, production of the action figure itself, warehouse fulfillment, shipping charges, and taxes.

How do I give you my shipping information?

We will send an email through Kickstarter when the campaign ends to ask for your shipping information.

How exactly does my purchase result in a $1 donation to Bernie's campaign?

Here’s the deal… Kickstarter doesn’t allow projects to raise money for political campaigns or charities. We would if we could, but it’s just not allowed and we totally understand why Kickstarter has this policy. However, what we can do is use the funds from Kickstarter to create our own site after the campaign and use that site to raise money for Bernie’s campaign. When that happens, we will begin sending $1 per figure sold to Bernie’s campaign.

This was our plan all along but we realize from some of the comments we’ve seen that many people had the impression that the policy applied to the actual Kickstarter campaign and we don’t want any of you to feel misled.

If you choose to withdraw your funding from our campaign, we will understand but if not we’re confident that you will see through our updates and our actions after March 30 that we intend to keep good on our pledge to use this product as a way to support the Bernie campaign. We just have to do it in a way that respects Kickstarter’s rules.

Once we go live with our own site, we will make our contributions public so everyone can see the $1 per figure model in action, transparently.

Finally, we have to acknowledge that there are limits to how much money people can donate to a political campaign so if we keep on selling figures at the current rate we’ll have to be creative as to how we make the donations - possibly moving the funds to a Bernie-related charity after a certain threshold. It will be a learning process for us and we’ll be working with a lawyer to make sure we stay well within the bounds of the law. Again, we’ll do this all publicly and transparently.

Again, thanks for your support. This campaign has already succeeded beyond our wildest dreams and we have you to thank for it. Please know we’re listening to you guys and doing our best to keep up with your comments, questions and concerns. Our top priority remains as it was; to develop a fun, accessible way for small businesses and regular people to get involved in campaign finance.

** Now that the election is over, is $1 still being contributed to Bernie Sanders (either his organization or some other related political cause) for each Bernie doll sold? **

Now that the election is over there are no more contributions being made. Donations were made from 4/1/16 through the election FCTRY.com sales only. Political contributions are capped at the amount prescribed by law. We are working towards other donation plans and will keep customers updated via our social media accounts and email. BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
